My department, Remedy Tutors, have a lot of tutor vacancies for SEN teachers and tutors who can teach children with SEN/Ds, PMLDs- using specific techniques and handle behaviour in a caring manner. Education will take place in and around the Croydon area with an immediate start. As with all our roles, dedication is crucial and we expect ongoing commitment from our tutors. Key requirements: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred • Working knowledge of the core curriculum. • At least 2 years’ experience teaching SEN children in UK • Experience with PMLD, SEMH and a range of SEN/Ds • A genuine passion for teaching and helping children achieve their goals • Excellent organisational, communication, and administrative skills • A caring and non-judgemental approach • A current enhanced DBS, ideally on the DBS update service Teacher Specification: The ideal SEN teacher/tutor will be dedicated to meeting the needs of students who are struggling with emotional, behavioural, and/ or learning challenges as well as social communication issues. You should be confident at building an engaging and safe learning environment where the student feels valued, happy, excited to learn, driven, and aspirational. Tuition details: You will be dealing with children that potentially display challenging behaviours in this SEN Teacher/tutor role, so you should be resilient and adaptable in your teaching strategy, knowing how to de-escalate a child in crisis, and quickly redirect their attention. Our tutors should be able to provide students with bespoke lessons that have been developed specifically for each child they are working with, adhering closely to the EHCP and advice and guidance from other professionals.
