JOB TITLE: Electrical Controls Engineer LOCATION: Hybrid working or home working with travel to office or sites SALARY PACKAGE: * Salary up to £50 – 55k, depending on experience * Company car / allowance * 37.5 hours per week * 25 days holiday plus bank holiday, rising with service * Pension matched to 5% WORKING HOURS: 37.5 * Hours of work are flexible between 8am and 6pm with either 30 minutes or 1 hour for lunch a long as 7.5 hours per day are worked. JOB SUMMARY * Work within the Controls Design team to produce detail circuit diagrams, component layouts, BOM’s, Calculations and PLC software as required for automated warehouse systems, along with commissioning of control systems on client sites. * Be a key team member in the overall Engineering team and Project delivery team, working co-operatively and proactively to ensure our projects are delivered on time, on quality and on cost. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Produce high quality electrical designs that meet project requirements and relevant technical standards. * Produce Eplan drawings suitable for use by the installation and service support teams * Produce Bills of Materials and process documentation suitable for the procurement team to efficiently purchase parts required * Produce technical documentation required to enable software to be written * Write PLC and HMI code to meet requirements of the system; test the code and install it and commission it at clients’ sites * Write the FS for projects as required and co-ordinate with colleagues within Engineering and within Systems to ensure alignment of functionality and interfaces * Work with the Project Engineering team to ensure full co-ordination of electrical, control and mechanical part requirements and a complete integrated design solution. * Proactively work with Engineering, procurement, project management and installations to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and scope. * Investigate and resolve any technical issues that are flagged within electrical design and PLC software systems * Provide first line training / familiarisation to support team members for commissioned systems. * Keep developing yourself and your skills to ensure your technical skills remain current. PERSON SPECIFICATION * Teamwork focused individual who has strong resilience and able to manage conflicting priorities. * A strong can-do attitude and willingness to step in and help resolve complex problems when required. * A steadfast focusing on ensuring we do the right thing from a technical and safety perspective, irrespective of any external pressure. * Strong eye for detail and a natural interest in understanding how equipment works * Someone who takes pride in producing a good quality job and growing their team * Someone willing to spend time away from home to commission company Automated Systems EDUCATION & SKILLS * Formal Qualification in Electrical Engineering – Preferred Degree, acceptable HND/HNC with suitable relevant design experience. * High competence in Electrical Design engineering, including conducting appropriate calculations, generating specifications, producing CAD drawings using EPlan, developing design concepts, resolving technical design issues. * Skills in Siemens PLC software writing and testing * Electrical Design Engineering – especially capital equipment and or systems
