Planning Engineer (All levels) - Defence Glasgow / Hybrid Contract (Inside IR35) & permanent positions available #SM-774 Our client, a renowned independent international company, is looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to join a major defence infrastructure construction project. This role offers flexibility, with options for both contract and permanent positions based on your preference. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, you must have SC-level security clearance or be eligible to obtain one with a UK passport. Main Duties: * Project Schedule Management: Develop and manage project schedules, coordinate work packages, track progress, and manage resources effectively. * Sub-Contractor Coordination: Oversee and coordinate with sub-contractors, including reviewing and approving their programmes. * Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with stakeholders to report on progress, identify changes, assess risks, and highlight opportunities. * Proposal Support: Contribute to proposals by providing manhour estimates and planning input. * Reporting: Produce concise and accurate reports on project metrics, including critical path analysis, for the Defence Infrastructure Lead Team. Requirements: * Primavera P6 Proficiency: Intermediate level proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential. * MS Office Skills: Strong skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and Project. * Self-Motivation: Ability to meet deadlines independently and without supervision. * Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and concise summaries of project progress, critical path risks, and metrics. * Sub-Contractor Engagement: Confidently engage with sub-contractors and critically review their submissions. * NEC4 Contracts Experience: Prior experience as a project planner on NEC4 Contracts, particularly Option A and Option C, is essential. * Industry Background: Experience in major infrastructure design and build projects is highly desirable, with a particular focus on the nuclear or defence industry. * Security Clearance: Candidates must be UK nationals and able to obtain Security Clearance.
