JAB Recruitment is currently sourcing a skilled Structural Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading Oilfield Services company. This role is based in Kingston Upon Thames and offers an opportunity to work on a high-profile Offshore Wind project. The contract is available on an outside IR35 basis, providing flexibility for the right candidate.
Role Summary:
The Structural Engineer will be responsible for performing structural analysis and design tasks for an exciting Offshore Wind project. The ideal candidate must have significant offshore energy industry experience, be degree qualified, and ideally chartered or working towards chartered status. Strong communication skills and a proven ability to deliver high-quality Structural Engineering are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and take responsibility for structural analysis tasks using company standard structural analysis software (primarily SACS, and also STAAD and GT-STRUDL).
- Conduct detailed design calculations in accordance with company requirements and industry standards, including statutory rules and regulations (e.g., DNV GL, API, AISC, EC, and Norsok).
- Review, comment, and approve structural drawings for steel structures based on engineering design.
- Prepare high-quality design reports and maintain records in accordance with department operating procedures.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in line with company policies on health, safety, quality, and environmental matters, following specific procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field (required).
- Chartered or working towards chartered status is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in the offshore energy industry with a strong track record in Structural Engineering.
- Expertise in structural analysis software such as SACS, STAAD, and GT-STRUDL.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (DNV GL, API, AISC, EC, and Norsok).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a project team.
