Cloud technologies are being rapidly adopted at Foster + Partners. Our vision is to assure an environment where our teams can leverage cloud technologies with confidence to further our successes. We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer who will play a critical role in enabling Foster + Partners' cloud transformation by implementing and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure, ensure best practice and growing our DevOps and Platform Engineering culture. This position will ensure that our teams can innovate and deliver on our ambitious architectural goals by leveraging cutting-edge cloud technologies.
Responsibilities
· Support the administration of Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zones and other cloud environments.
· Tooling and automation for our applications and services: designing and maintaining IaC and building automated and fault-tolerant deployment processes for applications and infrastructure.
· Ensure security best practices are applied across cloud deployments, including IAM, encryption, and compliance with relevant policies, regulations and standards.
· Monitor cloud infrastructure(s), services and applications for performance, security, and availability, and respond to incidents or outages as required
· Collaboration and leadership: work with our Developers across the practice, providing expert infrastructure and DevOps support.
· Develop guidance and documentation.
Essential skills
· Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities and show strong initiative, innovation, and problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrable in-depth experience of key DevOps skills: use of Git, CI/CD platforms, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure/AWS, PaaS/Serverless cloud resources, Linux and Bash scripting, Windows and PowerShell scripting.
· Contribute to advancing adoption of DevOps culture through educating and supporting teams across the company.
· 2+ years of experience as a Cloud/DevOps Engineer (or closely related) deploying and managing IaaS and PaaS cloud infrastructure.
· Azure Certifications (1 or more): AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AZ-400 DevOps Engineer Expert
· Strong understanding of networking, security, and governance.
· Proficient skills in HTML, Markdown, PowerShell, Bash
· Able to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently/ Takes full accountability for the actions taken and decisions made.
· Proven ability to mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
