Referment is working with an innovative and technology driven hedge fund who have been going through an exciting period of growth due to a number of years of consistently strong performance. Their Risk Technology team is looking to hire a Java Developer in London.

This role will involve rebuilding and refactoring some of the key components of their core Risk systems, using new technologies which include Microservices, Kafka and Kubernetes. As the company moves into new asset classes and expands, the successful developer will be responsible for making these Risk systems more scalable, working closely with the Risk Managers and other stakeholders within the fund.


Key Responsibilities


  • Strong Java development skills
  • Experience with cloud, container and micro service infrastructures (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational database
  • Exposure to stream processing and messaging technologies such as Kafka/Flink/Kinesis
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL design patterns
  • Experience working in financial markets at either a bank, hedge fund, software vendor or trading firm.
